Superior Bike Fest

Fusion loaded up the bikes and made the journey to the U.P. for Superior Bike Fest on June 26.  The event was actually three days of racing that took place in the very cool town of Marquette.

Friday (June 26) was the twilight criterium, which took place on the hilly, fan-packed, downtown streets of Marquette.  Saturday, racers lined up for the State Road Championship race that had a start/finish in Marquette.  The road race took riders from the shoreline of Lake Superior through some very hilly, challenging roads that wound there way through some of the iron mining districts of the U.P.  Sunday (June 28) was the circuit race that took place on Presque Isle.  The race was short (20-minutes) but didn't lack intensity with riders climbing over 120 feet per 2-mile lap.

The Big News from Superior Bike Fest for Fusion was that Luke (Oostindie) survived the hills and out-sprinted his closest rival to win the State Road Championship (CAT 4).
